This is the first time that Aman Committee’s offices are being demolished, while scores of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM)’s illegal offices were already demolished by law enforcement agencies in the recent spree.
This crackdown shows that it was not just a matter of MQM, but illegal offices of other political parties will also be brought down.
PAC was banned on October 11, 2011 under Clause (11/B) of Anti-terrorism Act 1997.
Sources said the details of illegal offices of the Lyari-based group were collected, while a survey has revealed that all the offices of the banned outfit are constructed unlawfully.
Illegal offices of the Aman Committee are constructed in Lyari, Yousuf Goth, Malir, Old Golimar, Mawach Goth, Gulbahar, Ilyas Goth, Alfalah road, Singo Lane, Sarbazi Mohalla, Saeedabad and Ali Muhammad area.
A large contingent of law enforcement agencies was present in Lyari to counter any untoward situation.
Meanwhile, two more MQM offices have also been demolished today, in Gulshan-e-Iqbal and Gulistan-e-Johar, rising the number of MQM’s demolished offices to be 140.
Both the offices were constructed on public property.
