Three policemen killed in Peshawar attack

An assailant was killed as policemen retaliated the attack.

According to police officials, militants hiding in a house, opened fire on a contingent of policemen during a search operation in Peshawar’s Urmarh area today.

Two policemen killed on the spot in the firing, while another succumbed to his injuries in hospital.

Seven policemen were injured in the ambush. They were admitted at Lady Reading Hospital of Peshawar for medical attendance.

An attacker was killed in the firing of policemen, while other escaped from the scene, police sources said.

Police have cordoned off the area and a search is being carried out to nab the culprits, police officials said.

The assailants involved in the attack were wanted militants, police said.
