One Rangers dead, six injured in Larkana bomb attack

According to details, the explosives went off just as the Rangers vehicle was passing through the area. Five security forces personnel and two passersby were reported injured in the blast. A Rangers man later succumbed to his injuries in the hospital.

The Rangers Headquarters in Larkana has been located near the scene of the attack. Sources said that the explosive device was planted on a bicycle, which was detonated through a time device.

The area was cordoned off by the paramilitary forces following the attack and the wounded personnel were shifted to Chandka Medical College Hospital for treatment. However, a Rangers personnel succumbed to his injuries in the hospital, Medical Superintendent of the hospital said.

A search operation has been launched by the Rangers for the arrests of the attackers following the blast. Two suspects have been taken into custody, sources said.

DIG Police Abdullah Shaikh talking to media said that the police has reached near the perpetrators of the attack. He said the investigation of the case will be completed soon. He said the dead body of the deceased Rangers personnel will be handed over to the family after post-mortem.The funeral prayers of the deceased personnel has been offered.

Director General Rangers Major General Bilal Akbar reached Larkana and visited the scene of the attack on Rangers personnel this morning. He said that they have the support of the federal government to conduct operations in Sindh. He said that they will take action against criminals along with the Police without any discrimination  no matter where they are present.
