According to police, the assailants opened fire on a vehicle in the jurisdiction of Khazana Police Station due to which three people were killed on the spot.
The slain persons have not been identified as yet. The attackers managed to escape after carrying out the crime.
Heavy contingents of law enforcement agencies arrived at the scene and launched its investigation.
It should be noted that unknown gunmen had shot dead a polio worker in the provincial capital on Saturday (yesterday).
Outlawed organization by the name of Jamaat-ul-Ahraar had claimed responsibility of the polio worker’s killing. The group’s spokesman Ahsanullah Ahsan had vowed to carry out more of these attacks.
