Besides, with a smartphone, there’s no need to wait to upload pictures to Facebook, Instagram, or email – all it takes is a few clicks and the photo can be shared with the world.

MP3 Players

First of all, does anyone even buy music anymore? Services like Pandora and Spotify make buying and downloading music all but pointless and with all of the music-listening apps available on smartphones, MP3 players are quickly becoming a thing of the past.

Calculators

What’s the point of having a calculator these days? Every mobile phone comes with at least a basic calculator and, for those that need more math than the multiplying and dividing, there are plenty of fancy scientific calculators available for download on smart phones. Smart phones are all about doing as much as possible with fewer tools and bulky calculators are all but useless now.

Letter Writing

If calling someone is becoming an extinct art then letter writing is ancient. Soon, kids will probably be asking what a post office is. Smart phones provide instant access to so many other forms of communication that writing a letter is all but pointless.
Who wants to wait a few days for a letter to arrive in the mail when a simple email or text could be sent and received in a matter of minutes?

Handheld Games Consoles

Modern smartphone now have the screen sizes, processing power, memory and storage capacity to run even the most demanding games. On many games, there are no need for buttons either – just tilt the phone and the in-built gyroscope sensors convert the movement into the game.

It’s probably fair to say that the smartphone has killed off more other pieces of technology than any other single device in history!
