WASHINGTON: A high-level White House official has hinted that Pakistan may be added to the list of countries being denied United States visas, ARY News reported.
White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus — in an interview to an American television channel — said that the travel ban may be extended to the countries like Pakistan.
The official further stated that steps needed to be taken to address issues being faced by Pakistan and other countries.
Priebus claimed that the previous Obama administration had picked the seven countries for imposition of the travel ban.
“US President Donald Trump’s executive order on travel ban on the citizens of seven countries including Iran and Iraq is being implemented,” Priebus said.
Trump has suspended the arrival of all refugees to the US for at least 120 days and barred entry of the people from seven Muslim-majority countries of Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen for 90 days.
