Capt Umair , Havaldar Hakim, Sepoy Rashid , and Sepoy Hameed lost their lives while battling the militants yesterday in North Waziristan’s Shawal Valley.

Their funeral prayers were offered in Peshawar this morning. Army Chief General Raheel Sharif also attended the funeral.

The COAS reiterated resolve that operation will continue across the country till elimination of all terrorists. He said forces wont allow terrorists to flee Shawal.

The Pakistani military’s latest ground and aerial onslaught in the troubled northwest killed at least 34 militants Saturday. The attacks come days after Army Chief General Raheel Sharif ordered his troops to begin the last phase of a bloody operation targeting militants in the country’s restive northwest along the Afghan border.

He said while fighting the terrorists these personnel placed the future of the nation before their own and fought as if they were fighting for a secure future of their own children.

The prime minister said there is little room for complacency as the nation is passing through a critical stage. This is a battle of good against the evil, and the good will prevail.

Pakistan Army launched Operation Zar-e-Azb in 2014 in a bid to wipe out militant bases in the North Waziristan tribal area and bring an end to the near decade-long Islamist insurgency that has cost Pakistan thousands of lives.
