RAWALPINDI: Two Pakistani citizens were martyred and six others injured because of unprovoked Indian firing along the restive Line of Control (LoC), ARY News reported.

The military’s media wing, Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), Indian troops on Tuesday resorted to unprovoked firing with artillery, heavy mortars and automatic weapons along LoC targeting innocent civil population of villages Naukot and Qaiser Kot in Lipa Valley.

As a result of the cross border firing, Sumaira Younis and Maryam were martyred, while Muhammed Shakeel, Muhammed Anwar Baig, Muneer Ahmed, Zeeshan, Rafeeque Ahmed and Nasreen were injured, the ISPR said.

The injured are being provided medical treatment at army medical facality at Lipa.

Pakistan army troops effectively engaged Indian troops and destroyed four of their posts causing heavy damage, said the ISPR.

On October 14, two people, including a six-year-old girl, were injured when Indian troops resorted to unprovoked firing from across the border at the LoC.

This should be noted that last week a meeting of federal cabinet, with Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi in the chair, condemned unprovoked firing by Indian security forces across LoC wounding innocent civilians including women and children.
