Two missing aides of Zardari recovered from Balochistan

KARACHI: Two missing close aides of former president Asif Ali Zardari have been recovered on Sunday from Balochistan’s bordering town of Mand, in Turbat district, ARY News reported.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Anti-Violent Cell Tariq Dharejo confirmed that they have been recovered in an intelligence-based raid.

The men were identified as Ashfaq Laghari and Ghulam Qadir Marri who went missing last month along with former adviser to Sindh government Nawab Ali Laghari.

The close aides were being shifted to Anti-Violent Cell Karachi for interrogation, police sources said.

Earlier, Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) protested over enforced disappearance of three close aides of Zardari and staged a token walkout in the National Assembly.

However, the whereabouts of third close aide are still unknown.

Nawab Ali Laghari is still missing who was allegedly kidnapped within the jurisdiction of Lohi Bher police station in Islamabad last month.

The family sources had claimed that people in plain clothes broke into the house asked the victim to produce his national identity card. Upon verification, he was forcefully dragged into a black Toyota Vigo and since then his whereabouts are unknown, the relatives said.

It is pertinent to mention that all three close aides of the former president went missing one by another in duration of a week.
