In an interview, Sanchez said that it was an interesting business model as he worked with publishers who created content for his Twitter and Facebook pages and he got paid based on how much web traffic he brought to their website.
The Twitter account of UberFacts has 13.5 million followers and is one of the most followed handles on the micro-blogging website, including high profile celebrities. UberFacts’ developer stated that the famous accounts helped him start his business.
Sanchez said, “It definitely picked up when celebrities like Paris Hilton and Kim Kardashian started retweeting the account. But it became a business when another company taught me how to monetize from Twitter.”
He added, “They taught me the way to influence by choosing galleries that really resonate with my audience. They would make galleries like ‘Ten Things You Didn’t Know About Space’ or ‘7 Facts You Won’t Believe About the Human Body’. So things that just really fit the audience.”
Sanchez stated that the engagements of UberFacts mostly come from Instagram despite Twitter having its most number of followers.
