Pakistan sends reference to UK against Altaf’s August 22 speech


According to Interior Ministry spokesman, the ministry has provided British authorities with proofs regarding Altaf Hussain’s speech in which the MQM chief incited party workers to violence.

The reference sent to UK states that Altaf Hussain violated local and international laws in his August 22 speech and the British government must take action against him according to its laws.

Altaf Hussain’s August 22 speech 

MQM chief Altaf Hussain  reportedly issued anti-Pakistan statements and urged his followers to raise “Pakistan Murdabad” (death to Pakistan) slogans in his August 22 speech outside Karachi Press Club.

The speech also incited MQM workers to attack media houses which resulted in attack on ARY News office.

Though Altaf rendered a formal apology after the speech, a party leader who resigned after the speech, claimed that Altaf defended his speech in a telephone call even after the apology.
