UNODC, Japanese Embassy hand over 200 drug identification kits to ANF

RAWALPINDI: UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and Japanese Embassy on Friday handed over two hundred narcotics identification kits to Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) in Rawalpindi.

In a ceremony on Friday, the ANF officials received 200 narcotics identification kits to increase the force’s capacity for controlling drug trafficking.

The kits will help strengthen border security against illicit drug trafficking and related transnational organized crime.

Speaking on the occasion, ANF Chief of Staff Brigadier Sheikh Ali Muhammad thanked the government and people of Japan and UNODC for their continuous support to Pakistan for building its operational capacity in countering numerous existing and emerging challenges posed by drug trafficking in the country and the region.

UNODC Country Representative Cesar Guedes said they are committed to strengthen operational capacities of ANF for addressing the drug trafficking and global organized crime.
