US backs democracy in Pakistan

Former President, Asif Ali Zardari and the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Nawaz Sharif have sped up their efforts for the continuity and stability of the democratic system in the state.

Sources told the Government of Pakistan and the opposition both are agreed upon the point that democracy in Pakistan cannot be taken out from the challenges it is facing, without the support of world powers.

Yesterday, former President, Zardari’s meeting with US Vice President, Joe Biden, was part of the same process.

‘The US Vice President during yesterday’s Iftar dinner, praised peaceful democratic transition of power and assured that the United States (US) will keep on supporting the continuation of a democracy in Pakistan’, said sources.

The Government of Pakistan and the Opposition these days, tend to persuade world powers for democratic stability in Pakistan.

Moreover, it was reported that all these efforts to gain the support of world powers, are aimed at propagating a clear message to the elements, who want to harm democracy in state, through confrontation with the Government.

On the other hand, Prime Minister, Nawaz Sharif will spend last ten days of the holy month of Ramadan in Saudi Arabia, where he will also hold meetings with key Saudi officials to gain their support in favor of his government.
