ISLAMABAD: A US citizen was released on bail after being arrested for carrying firearms on Benazir Bhutto International Airport in Islamabad, it is the second such incident this year, ARY News reported.
According to details, a US citizen William Jones travelling abroad reached Benazir Bhutto International Airport in Islamabad and was arrested by security officials due to the recovery of a pistol and two bullets from his luggage.
Police registered a case against Jones for possessing illegal weapon and presented him in court which released the US citizen on bail.
Sources say, Police was pressed to release Jones as soon as they arrested him.
It is the second such incident this year as on May 7th another US citizen Joel Cox was also arrested from Karachi Airport for possessing 9mm pistol along with nine bullets but was soon released. Later it was revealed that Cox was an FBI agent.
