ISLAMABAD: United States Defence Secretary Chuck Hagel reached Islamabad on Monday on a daylong visit to meet with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Pakistan’s new army chief General Raheel Sharif, ARY News reports.
It is the first visit of a US defence secretary to Pakistan within last four years.
The visit of a US top official being looked by anylists an effort to repair strained bilateral relations between Washington and Islamabad amid protests against US drone strikes forcing the US to stop the shipments from Torkham border crossing to Karachi last week.
