Useless to blame PPP for not holding LB Polls: Khuhro

KARACHI: Education Minister for Sindh Nisar Ahmad Khuhro has said today that it is baseless to blame Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) for not holding the Local Bodies (LB) Elections in the province, ARY News reports.

Speaking to media during the distribution of appointment letters to teachers at NJV School here, Nisar Khuhro said that PPP believes in democracy and it is the people's vote that bring electoral candidates into power. He confessed that a mistake was made by not participating in the 1983 polls that were held on non-party basis.

The provincial education minister claimed that the cheating culture will be eradicated from Sindh and Rangers will be performing duties in the examination centres from next year.

On the occasion, Nisar Khuhro distributed appointment letters to 253 teachers in which 57 were from Karachi, 38 were from Mir Pur Khas and 148 teachers were from Hyderabad. He further said appointment letters will be issued to Junior School Teachers (JST) and Primary School Teachers (PST) in the next three months.

The provincial minister for education stated that 16 billion rupee economic plan was accepted for the education sector in the province from World Bank which is an expression of confidence. A three billion rupee plan was accepted last year. According to the project, the teachers are appointed on merit basis through National Teaching Services (NTS) examination.

He claimed that deputation is not allowed in the education sector of Sindh and strict action will be taken against the persons violating the law.
