CM Usman Buzdar reinstates Mayo Hospital medical superintendent

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar on Tuesday reinstated Dr Tahir Khalil as medical superintendent (MS) of Mayo Hospital.

He announced this, on request of President Pakistan Medical Association (PMA) Dr. Ashraf Nizami, while presiding over a high-level meeting regarding the health sector at Chief Minister’s Office in Lahore.

Provincial Minister for Health Dr Yasmeen Rashid, General Secretary PMA Dr Shahid Malik, Vice Chancellor KEMU Dr Khalid Masood Gondal, Dr Ibrar Ashraf, Dr Asad Aslam Khan, Dr Azeem Uddin Zahid Lakhwi from KEMU, Secretary Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education, Principal Secretary to CM and others attended the meeting.

The meeting reviewed the proposals about the betterment of the health sector as well as the provision of best healthcare facilities in the public sector hospitals.

The PMA presented their recommendations regarding the provision of best healthcare facilities to the patients, upon which, the chief minister assured quick implementation.

While addressing the meeting, Usman Buzdar said that provision of standardized healthcare facilities to the patients was the top priority of the government.

“Work is being carried out for further improving the government sector hospitals,” he said.

He said that doctors who were serving the ailing humanity were respectable for us and their genuine demands will be met.
