Vandalism not to be accepted on Nov 30, warns Nisar

Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, Chaudhry Nisar said neither the government has created hurdles for political gatherings nor it will do so now, however vandalism in the capital will not be accepted under the guise of a rally.

He slammed the ones staging sit-ins in the country, saying, “Whoever speaks the truth, they charge him of lying, betraying and treachery”.

“It is the people of Pakistan who are to decide whether the governments will be toppled by ‘Go Go’ chants or through the procedure prescribed in the Constitution of Pakistan”, said the minister. “Those who want to implement their system based on “Go Go” on the entire country, did not heed when the same chants echoed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP)”.

He said that the PTI served a show cause notice to its own MPA who had voiced ‘Go Khattak Go’, instead of inquiring about his concerns.

An elected party president [Makhdoom Javed Hashmi] was expelled from the party for having a difference of opinion, which shows that the ones staging sit-ins do not accept anyone to oppose what they believe, said the Interior Minister.

Their agenda seems more of creating anarchy, than bringing about an ‘actual revolution’, added Nisar.

Speaking about the August 31 happenings, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan said that the sit-in leaders claim the killing of 24 people, yet the fact is that only two persons were killed on that day. He challenged the defiant parties to provide the names and identity card numbers of the 24 people, whom they say were killed on August 31.

He said that police was not armed on August 31, while among the two people who were killed, one was shot in the abdomen from point-blank range and the other was shot under the chin.

The Interior Minister claimed that the weapon used to kill both the persons was a 9mm pistol that the police did not have.
