Faisal Vawda, KP CM review progress on Dasu Dam

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Water Resources Faisal Vawda and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mahmood Khan on Wednesday reviewed progress and discussed resources available for Dasu Dam, ARY News reported.

 According to the details, Faisal Vawda and Mahmood Khan jointly presided over a high-level meeting held at Prime Minister Office on construction of new dams and water issues in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

 The meeting decided to take emergency measures to tackle water scarcity in KP. On the occasion Federal Minister Faisal Vawda said that the federal government would provide every possible support to the provincial governments to overcome water crises.

The federal minister said that the government was contacting national and international financial institutions for bigger projects. He said that they would devise a comprehensive strategy to end water scarcity forever.

Faisal Vawda said that they were also working on a comprehensive framework to overcome water crisis in Sindh.

Earlier in the day,  Federal Minister for Water Resources, Faisal Vawda was given a briefing during his visit of the Indus River System Authority (Irsa).

The members from the four provinces were also present during the briefing given by the Chairman Irsa. The federal minister was informed about the water flow in rivers and existing water level at the country’s dams.
