KARACHI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Faisal Vawda on Thursday not only blamed rival Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) for Imran Khan’s ex-wife Reham Khan’s book but also accused  Nawaz Sharif for her interviews on Indian TV channels, ARY News reported.

“The statement she (Reham Khan) gave in India clearly shows Nawaz Sharif is behind her.. who has connections in India but Nawaz Sharif… whenever he is in trouble, a ceasefire violation occurs on Line Of Control and our soldiers get killed,” said Vawda.

About why he thinks PML-N is behind the book despite the party’s outright denial, he said that a number of PML-N leaders have predicted the release of this book and PML-N also has a history of “character assassination” of rivals like late Benazir Bhutto.

He also defended the party’s handling of the whole episode by saying that followers of a righteous leader cannot tolerate such “mud-slinging” on the person.

It is pertinent to mention here that on Tuesday, Reham Khan also said that she is happy for PTI is giving her biography a lot of “free publicity”.

“There is a lot of hue and cry about my book but the interesting thing is that all this is raised by PTI, not me, and I just can’t understand that it is this party which is afraid of the book (release) but is giving it all the free publicity,” Reham Khan had said.

PTI chief Imran Khan’s ex-wife Reham Khan is expected to release her biography before July 25 general elections and the book is expected to contain some revelations about PTI and its chief Imran Khan.

Reham married Imran Khan in January 2015 in a ceremony at PTI chief’s Islamabad home, but was divorced ten months later.

The hype surrounding her book release got an unexpected boost when on June 3, claimed on Twitter that he has read a manuscript of the book and it portrays PTI chief as an evil man.

Hours later, PTI spokesman Fawad Chaudhry said that the book is “exercise to demolish only and real opposition” PTI.

Both Hamza and Fawad claim that the book contains “lies” and “defamatory content”, not only about PTI leaders but some other people related to Reham in the past.

Reham has also been interviewed by a number of Indian TV channels regarding the book.
