ISLAMABAD: Usman Dar, Prime Minister’s special assistant, vehemently said on Tuesday that the verdict of former president Asif Ali Zardari’s disqualification case will be written in the history.

Speaking to media in the premises of the Islamabad High Court (IHC), Dar expressed gratitude to the high court on the acceptance of his disqualification petition against Asif Ali Zardari. He said “Asif Zardari will be disqualified under Article 62 (1)(F)”.

“Zardari concealed his assets and New York apartments while Mehreen Shah was used as front-man,” the PM’s aide said.

Taking a jibe at Chief Minister (CM) Sindh, he said “Murad Ali Shah can foresee Pakistan sinking but not Sindh.”

Dar further challenged the CM Sindh to dare inquire Zardari about his assets, “if he really wants to secure the future of Pakistan Peoples Party.”

Disqualification petition against Zardari accepted

The Islamabad High Court on Jan 29 removed objections raised by the registrar office on disqualification writs field by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), seeking disqualification of former president Asif Ali Zardari for concealing details of his assets

The IHC registrar office had raised administrative objections over the petitions filed by Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Youth Affairs Mohammad Usman Dar and Khurram Sher Zaman, a PTI MPA from Sindh.

The office had said the petitioners didn’t approach the relevant forum to have their grievance addressed. “The petitioners approached Supreme Court despite presence of the aforesaid forum.”
