Vibrant QaQlasht Festival 2018 concludes in Chitral

CHITRAL: Colorful QaQlasht Festival 2018 concluded on Sunday in Chitral with calls for promoting tourism in the district.
Abdul Ghani Khan alias Dul Mama and Mir Wali alias Kuragh-o-Master inaugurated the Qaqlasht festival. Deputy Commissioner Chitral Irshad Sodhar and all heads of departments and officials of Tourism Corporation Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (TCKP) were also present on the occasion.
Irshad Sodhar said to promote tourism specially adventure tourism in the region the event was organized with the help of TCKP.
“There is a lot of potential of tourism in Chitral which is required to be explored,” he said.
The DC Chitral Irshad Sodhar started that rock climbing personally to encourage youth to participate in this sport.
Following sports competitions took place during the event with Zip Lining being done for the first time ever:
- Polo
- Football
- Cricket
- Table Tennis
- Volley Ball
- Paragliding
- Zip Lining
- Rock climbing
- Skate shooting
- Tug of war
Different sports activities were also organized for differently-abled children to make them feel more inclusive. DC Chitral said, “It is the need of the hour to make every human feel valued and important, We, in Chitral, want to see them as an active member of the society.”

Apart from these games, the locals also enjoyed traditional music and dance which lasted till late night.
