Stewart McLean, an actor known for his appearances in Virgin River and Arrow, has been found dead days after he was reported missing. He was 45.

Canadian authorities now believe McLean was the victim of a homicide. According to an initial statement from the Squamish Royal Canadian Mounted Police, investigators uncovered evidence suggesting foul play after launching a missing persons investigation earlier this week. The case has since been transferred to the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT).

Police confirmed that McLean’s remains were discovered in the Lions Bay area of British Columbia. Officials have not publicly disclosed the specific evidence that led them to suspect homicide.

“As the investigation continues to unfold, homicide investigators are working to collect and analyze evidence, review CCTV footage and conduct interviews to build a timeline of Mr. McLean’s activities prior to May 15, 2026,” said Cpl. Esther Tupper of IHIT.

McLean was first reported missing on May 18 after he was last seen at his home in Lions Bay on May 15.

In a statement to Page Six, a spokesperson for McLean’s agency, Lucas Talent, said the company was “devastated” by the news of his death.

In addition to his work on Virgin River, McLean also appeared in Murder in a Small Town and Arrow. His most recent acting credit was a 2026 episode of the Netflix hit, which films in British Columbia.

Beyond acting, Stewart McLean also worked as a producer on projects including “Please Look Away Vol. 2” and “CLOUD Van-Demic!”
