ADELAIDE: Pakistan’s one-day captain Azhar Ali has said that the side wants to end the tour of Australia on a winning note, ARY News reported.

He was talking to media on Wednesday.

Ali said that his team wants to end the tour on a good note despite already having lost the one-day series.

He added that Wahab Riaz’s fiery spell against Australia at Adelaide in the ICC Cricket World Cup was “devastating”.

“Meanwhile, Australian batsman Glenn Maxwell said that Australia will win the last game in the five match series and clinch the ODI series 4-1.

Pakistan will play for pride in the fifth one-day international against Australia at Adelaide on Thursday.

The hosts hold an unbeatable lead of 3-1.

Pakistan has been unsuccessful in beating Australia for the past 21 years at Adelaide. The visitors had last beaten the hosts under the captaincy of Wasim Akram by 12 runs in 1996.

Pakistan has played 18 games at Adelaide and won only four. Their last victory at the venue came against Ireland in the 2015 ICC Cricket World Cup.
