LAHORE: The Punjab government through a notification on Friday banned wearing of gown for ‘ineligible’ doctors, ARY News reported.
The notification revealed that fake doctors wearing gowns were visiting public hospitals.
The impersonators pretend before people as if they are doctors.
They persuade and force patients to visit private hospitals. The fake doctors also illegally charge fees from patients.

The notification has announced that the relevant district health authority will issue the employees health cards. It would be mandatory for every doctor and staff to hang the identity cards containing their designation and other details. After performing their duties, the doctors and staff will return the cards.
The relevant authorities will make a surprise visit to hospitals for inspection.
On March 18, police had claimed to have rounded up two fake doctors, who were responsible for the death of a school teacher during labour pain in Ali Akbar Shah goth of Ibrahim Hyderi, Karachi.
According to police, Dr Uzma, running a private clinic in the area, had asked the relatives of the lady teacher to shift her to a hospital after her condition worsened in the clinic due to labour pain.
However, the lady teacher had died on the way while being shifted to the medical facility.
