Weather turns pleasant after morning drizzle in Karachi

KARACHI: Citizens woke up to pleasant weather in the metropolis on Monday morning as it was drizzling in various parts of the city pushing down the mercury on scale.

The meteorological department has predicted cloudy weather in the city throughout the day with light rainfall at isolated places to bring down the mercury level. The minimum and maximum temperature will remain 22 and 28 degree Celsius respectively.

According to the Met office, the rain causing light to moderate monsoon currents are penetrating northern and eastern parts of Pakistan.

The weather office predicted mostly hot and humid weather across the country. However, rain with thunderstorm and gusty winds are expected at isolated places of Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, D.G Khan, Malakand, Hazara, Zhob, Kalat, Islamabad and Kashmir in the next 24 hours.

Various parts of the country received light to heavy rain yesterday, said the Met office, adding rain/thundershowers with gusty winds occurred at isolated places in Gujranwala and Kashmir.

A day before, the highest temperature was recorded in Balochistan province’s Nokkundi town which reeled under the temperature of 46 degree Celsius, while Sibbi remained the second hottest place with the temperature of 45 degree Celsius. Chillas experienced 44 degree centigrade whereas Larkana, DI Khan and Bhakkar experienced 43 degree centigrade.
