West Indies on the brink of another inning defeat

MUMBAI: West Indies has ended the second day of Mumbai Test at 43-3, and were 270 runs behind with 7 wickets remaining with Chris Gayle  on the crease and Shivnarine Chandepaul still to come to bat, ARY News reported.

Friday belonged to the Indian batsmen, as they stretched the score to 495 runs with the run rate of 4.58 runs.

Two of their batsmen Cheteshhwer Pujara and Rohit Sharma scored centuries while two other including little master, SR Tendulkar and Virat Kohli posted half centuries scoring 74 and 57 respectively.

Rohit, who scored unbeaten 111 runs, scripted a masterclass in batting with the tail to inflate the total by 80 runs, and joined an exclusive club with two hundreds in their first two innings.

Cheteshwar Pujara showed some elegant strokes to score 113.

West Indies having about an hour to bat, hadn’t able to get a desirable start against the massive lead of 313 runs.

West Indies had lost three wickets to the spinners. Once again, R Ashwin and Pragyan Ojha had the ball spinning and turning that created difficulties for the batsmen.

It’s not much likely to see a fight from West Indies but with Gayle and Chandepaul but if it has to come, it’s most likely from these two.
