KINGSTON: Play got underway after a four-hour delay on the second day of the first Test between the West Indies and Pakistan at Sabina Park in Jamaica on Saturday.

West Indies resumed at 244 for seven in their first innings after being put in to bat on the opening day.

Inadequate covering resulted in leakage onto the pitch and a sodden area of the outfield following heavy overnight and early morning rain, resulting in the lengthy delay.

Rainwater seeped onto areas of the pitch while a segment of the outfield has been left especially damp despite a significant improvement in the weather with bright, breezy conditions later in the morning.

West Indies closed the first day at 244 for seven in their first innings after being put in to bat.
