Wheat scam: NAB summons eight godown in-charges of Larkana

SUKKUR: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has summoned eight wheat godown in-charges of Larkana over alleged corruption, citing sources, ARY News reported on Tuesday.

The godown in-charges have been summoned to appear before NAB along with the concerned record.

According to the sources, Rs 1million loss occurred due to alleged corruption in the wheat stock in only four wheat warehouse in Larkana district.

NAB has asked to submit details of how many wheat bags they had received from 2007, how much wheat bags were sold and how much still remains in stock.

On April 27, wheat worth 12 million rupees were allegedly stolen from godowns in Sindh.

This was revealed during raids by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) at the godowns along with a magistrate.

The raids at warehouses of Kandhkot and Kashmore were carried out on order of the NAB chairman. A large number of sacks of wheat were found mixed with sand, while many other sacks were completely filled with sand.

Taking immediate action, the accountability watchdog had sealed the wheat warehouses in Kandhkot and Kashmore.

The NAB had warned that strict action would be taken against those also who would be found involved in selling the wheat in the market.
