MULTAN: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) senior leader Jahangir Khan Tareen on Tuesday said the incumbent government would fulfill its promise and certainly create South Punjab province, ARY News reported.

However, Jahangir Tareen said, a province was not created in the twinkling of an eye. All out measures were to be taken for this purpose, he added.

“The South Punjab secretariat is being established, then the other steps would take place. A province is created following resolution of water and administrative affairs,” he said.

Disdaining a media report, the PTI leader said he had no differences with Finance Minister Asad Umar. “I have no dispute with anybody. Such reports are being spread by the opponents. I have had no such meeting in recent days in which I would have exchange of harsh words with Asad.”

He also said it would take some time to rectify circumstances following the previous government’s bad governance.

“The previous governments just ruined economy of the country,” he said.

It is pertinent to mention here that Prime Minister Imran Khan today directed the concerned authorities to set up South Punjab secretariat by mid-2019.

He also discussed administrative matters regarding creation of new province of South Punjab during a high-level meeting.

Whereas, Minister for Planning Khusro Bakhtiyar on this occasion gave a detailed briefing about social and economic facts pertaining to the South Punjab.
