Woman killed, 25 wounded as bus overturns in Bahawalnagar

BAHAWALNAGAR: A woman was killed and 25 others sustained injuries when a passenger bus overturned here on Monday night, ARY News reported.

According to details, the vehicle was en-route to Lahore from Bahawalnagar when the untoward incident. A female was reportedly killed whereas 25 others, including a woman, were injured.

Rescue teams arrived at the scene and shifted the victims to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Road accidents, primarily caused by poor roads, badly maintained vehicles and reckless driving, leave thousands dead and injured every year in Pakistan.

Two buses carrying passengers collided head-on in Rahim Yar Khan district of Punjab leaving on Monday in which at least 29 people were killed and dozens of people were injured.

At least 23 people were killed when a minibus plunged from a mountain road into a river in Azad and Jammu Kashmir on the evening of 24th September.
