Women’s Cricket: New Zealand humble Pakistan to take 4-0 lead

NELSON: New Zealand Women defeated Pakistan Women by seven wickets in the fourth one-day international at Nelson on Thursday, ARY News reported.

New Zealand won the toss and invited Pakistan to take guard.

Pakistan were all out after scoring 158 in 48.1 overs. Ayesha Zafar was the top scorer as she made 52 runs from 83 balls which included seven boundaries.

Skipper Sana Mir made 31 runs from 58 balls with the help of three boundaries whereas Javeria Khan contributed 30 runs of 58 balls with four boundaries to her name.

Holly Huddleston was the stand out bowler for New Zealand as she took four wickets whereas Lea Tahuhu and Amy Satterthwaite grabbed two wickets each. Captain Suzie Bates and Amelia Kerr dismissed two Pakistani batswomen each as well.

New Zealand reached the target of 159 runs in 22.3 overs with seven wickets to spare.

Skipper Suzie Bates played a captain’s knock of 66 runs from 52 balls with the help of 11 boundaries whereas Sophie Devine made 54 runs off 53 deliveries. Liz Perry and Rachel Priest contributed 16 and 12 runs respectively.

Sana Mir, Iram Javed and Javeria Khan took one wicket each respectively.

New Zealand lead the five match series 4-0. The fifth and final game of the series will be played on 19th November at Nelson.
