Women’s quota enhanced from 5 to 10 percent in Sindh Police: Kaleem Imam

KARACHI: In a message on International Women’s Day, Inspector General of Police Sindh Dr Syed Kaleem Imam on Friday said women’s hiring quota in police had been increased from 5 percent to 10 percent, ARY News reported.

“I am super glad that some best female officers are working in police department with us,” Kaleem Imam said while addressing an event in Karachi.

He said for the first time in Sindh Police a woman officer Superintendent Police Suhai Aziz Talpur had announced to donate her organ posthumously.

“No nation can rise to the height of glory unless your women are side by side with you,” he said announcing that 2000 women police officers would be recruited very soon.

The IG Sindh said 75 percent hiring would be made on the post of ASI by reducing the number of constables.

He also announced to establish day care centres and separate women rooms at police stations. He announced to establish gender desks and women hostels as well as pick and drop service for female officials.

On this occasion, the Sindh police chief directed police officials to do their best for security of the Pakistan Super League season 4 matches so that guests knew that how much effort you were putting for their protection.
