DG ISPR said it was unfair to suggest that Pakistan did not ‘do enough’ against terrorism.
Mr Bajwa while giving an interview to Deutsche Welle Urdu on Wednesday said the world has failed to recognise Pakistan’s contributions in the war against terror and added the very notion that Pakistan has not been able to do enough to fight militancy and terrorism was absolutely unreasonable.
He said for the world to say that Pakistan has not done enough in the war on terror was bigotry as Pakistan has done the most in the war against terrorism and for peace in the world than any other country.
The Pakistan military spokesperson went on to say that the world abandoned Pakistan to handle and face the terrorists in the region alone.
While addressing serious accusations levelled against Pakistan that Operation Zarb-i-Azb did not target the Haqqani network, Mr Bajwa said so far the operation has tackled terrorist groups of all hues.
Bajwa, while offering a clear and straightforward statement regarding the United States (US) drone strikes on Pakistani soil, said Pakistan has raised its voice against drone strikes on every platform and would continue to the same in the future.
Pakistan had always been vocal about US drone strikes in its territory and have strongly criticised a recent drone attack in Balochistan that killed former Afghan Taliban chief Mullah Akhtar Mansour in May 2016, terming it a violation of its sovereignty.
