Wrestler Muhammad Inam made his country proud by winning the first gold medal for Pakistan in 86kg category freestyle men’s wrestling in Commonwealth Games at Gold Coast, Australia, on Saturday.
Inam defeated Nigeria’s Melvin Bibo who picked up the silver medal in the final game. Pakistani wrestler won the fight by 6-0.
The 29-year-old wrestler played four fights and won all of them. He also won the fight against Indian wrestler Somveer.
Athletes from Pakistan have also won four bronze during the games. The same day Tayyab Raza claimed a bronze medal in 125 kg category.

Army chief congratulates gold medalist wrestler
Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa congratulated Muhammad Inam on clinching Gold Medal in CG 2018.
“Well done for keeping the Pakistani flag high and bringing honour to the country,” he said in his felicitation message.
