The ‘Azmaish’ actor recalled being suicidal at a point in life when she suffered from depression.

“When I had depression, I would research a lot on its symptoms. I thought someone had cast a spell on me or it is an evil eye, or maybe a djinn had taken over me. I tried every recipe to treat [the condition],” Gill told the host.

The actor revealed that she even went for spiritual treatment to cure her condition, but eventually it was only doctors-prescribed medications that worked for her.

“While researching on the internet, I found that the symptoms of depression and evil eye are very similar, so going by the religious perspective, I have now started to rely on Quranic verses, and I believe it really works for me,” she added.

“There was a time in my life when I thought of committing suicide, but my faith was strong due to which I was able to pull myself out of depression,” Gill stated.

The actor also cleared the misconceptions regarding her religious conversion during the same outing. “This perception started from my surname Gill, which is common among Christians too. But I have always been a Muslim, born and brought up in a Muslim family,” she stated.
