Zardari backs PTI’s demand for recounting in 4 constituencies

In a statement, Zardari said there was no harm if recounting in four constituencies was conducted as demanded by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.

Whether it is Punjab or Sindh, a recounting should be conducted in constituencies, which Nawaz Sharif is uncomfortable with, he added.

Imran Khan, the PTI chief, has been demanding recounting of votes and verification of thumb impressions in four NA constituencies of Punjab which are; NA-110 Sialkot from where Minister for Defence and Water and Power Khawaja Mohammad Asif emerged victorious, NA-122 Lahore from where National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq declared winner, NA-125 Lahore from where Railways Minister Khawaja Saad Rafiq bagged victory and NA-154 Lodhran, a seat won by Siddiq Khan Baloch.

He insisted that he accepted results of general elections 2013 for sustainability of democracy. People are struggling for water and power, hence in these circumstances they cannot be left to fend for themselves, said the former president.
