Daesh-linked group claims attack on police, Rangers

KARACHI: A terrorist group affiliated with global terror outfit Daesh has claimed responsibility of killing police and Rangers personnel in Karachi along with other parts of Sindh as well as Punjab, ARY News reported.

According to sources, the terrorist group named ‘Ansarul Khilafa wal Jihad’ claimed responsibility for attacks on police and Rangers in Karachi, Multan, Hyderabad and other parts of Punjab and Sindh.

The group claimed that it used to work with name of ‘Tehreek-e-Khilafa’ previously and has pledged allegiance to Islamic State leader Abu Bakar-Al-Baghdadi.

ARY correspondent Faizullah Khan said the group also claimed responsibility of killing human rights lawyer Rashid Rehman in Multan.

It may be noted here that at least 17 policemen have been killed from January 1, 2015 to date in Karachi alone.

District Central of the metropolis saw more killing of police officials than any district.
