Four die as building collapses in Sheikhupura

SHEIKHUPURA: At least four people died and more than a dozen others were wounded when a double-storey building tumbled down in Sheikhupura on Monday night, ARY News reported.

Rescue sources said a dilapidated building collapsed near Faisalabad road, burying 20 people under the debris. Three dead bodies were pulled out from the debris, while 17 others were retrieved an in injured condition and rushed to a nearby hospital, they added.

One of the injured later succumbed to his injuries at the hospital, rescue officials said, increasing the death toll to four. The deceased were included two brothers, they added.

Last week, at least six people had died and five others sustained injuries in a roof collapse incident in Bajaur tribal region of the Federally Administered Tribal Area (FATA).

The incident had taken place in Khaar, the main town of the tribal agency. All the deceased and injured belonged to the same family.
