Amna Ilyas to say 'Good Morning Karachi' today

KARACHI: With hopes of revival of cinema in Pakistan, cine goers will see the release of another Pakistani movie ‘Good Morning Karachi’ on New Year, ARY News reported.

The movie revolves around ‘Rafina’, a poor girl who chases her dream to become a super model. The hardships, double standards and societal norms that stop her from chasing her dream are portrayed in the movie as she belongs to a poor family with her mother only wanting her to marry.

As the name suggests, Karachi’s streets and fashion industry are on display in the movie which is based upon a novel of the acclaimed Pakistani writer Shandana Minhas. The novel is named ‘Rafina’.

Directed by Sabiha Samar, the film will feature model cum actress Amna Ilyas in  lead characters while others in the cast include Yasir Aqeel, Farhan Ali Agha, Saba Hameed and Amina Sheikh.

It must be noted that the film will be released in Pakistani cinemas today but was first premiered on November 9, 2013 in South Asian International Film Festival.
