Imran, Qureshi allege DCO, Punjab Govt of Multan stampede

TOP NEWS

Addressing the participants of the PTI sit-in camp in Islamabad, Imran Khan expressed sorrow for the loss of innocent lives in Multan saying that those people had come to celebrate a historic day, but an unfortunate incident took place there.

He quoted Shah Mehmood Qureshi as saying that the DCO Multan did not cooperate with us, pertaining to the arrangements of PTI rally in Multan.

Meanwhile, Shah Mehmood Qureshi while talking to media outside the Nishtar Medical Hospital, said that the district administration had forced us to hold the rally at Qasim Bagh Fort, instead of the stadium.

The PPP leader declared Shahbaz Sharif-led Punjab Government and the DCO Multan to be responsible of the unfortunate event, for they did not make adequate arrangements.

Qureshi told that he had also made repeated requests to the CPO Multan, but no security was provided to them.

“Had enough policemen been deployed there, such an incident would not take place”, he lamented.

On the other hand, the DCO Multan has claimed that PTI had informed the local administration of making the inside arrangements of the rally itself.
