Security threats: Lahore Literature Festival reduced to two days

LAHORE: The inauguration of much-awaited Lahore Literature Festival has been postponed for a day for security reasons. The event will now kick off from Feb 20 (Saturday).

According to LLF organizers, the decision to delay inauguration of LLF has been taken after security advisory issued by the Government of Punjab.

The session of the opening day of LLF had 24 sessions to be addressed by known local and foreign scholars.

The City District Government Lahore had earlier cancelled the NOC issued for LLF on the basis of security concerns.

The DCO Lahore had also forwarded a letter to the organizers urging them to postpone the event, however after talks, the notification was re-issued allowing the event take place for just two days.

The LLF starts on Feb 20 and culminates on Feb 21.
