LAHORE: At least two teenage boys were killed and another injured when a roof of a house collapsed in Kotwali area of Lahore on Saturday.
According to rescue officials, the dead bodies and injured were manually recovered from debris of the collapsed building, without bringing mechanical tools into use.
The rescue operations were still underway to pull other family members from the debris. “All efforts are being made to rescue the parents of teenagers, trapped under the rubble”, a rescue official at the site said.
Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif has summoned report on the incident from the authorities concerned.
In Oct 2017, a woman was killed after the roof of a two-storey building caved in in Lahore.
In another incident in Oct last year in Mardan, a woman and her daughter were killed while her son sustained injuries when the roof of their house caved in.
