Meeting with Cameron: COAS raises issue of terror funding

RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif reached UK on a three-day visit and held a meeting with British Prime Minister David Cameron on the first day, ARY News reported.

The COAS and the British premier exchanged views on security matters and other vital issues.

Alongside meeting with Mr. Cameron, the Army chief also met National Security Advisor Sir Kim Darroch at 10 Downing Street.

The Army Chief also held lengthy discussions with UK’s Chief of Defence Staff General Sir Nicholas Houghton on regional security, stability, and Afghanistan.

According to Director General ISPR Major General Asim Bajwa, the Army chief raised the issue of action against anti-Pakistan elements and banned organisations operating from outside Pakistan. Further, he discuss measures in choking funding to terror groups.
