Military courts formation a step to greater democracy, says Bajwa

RAWALPINDI: Director General of Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) Major General Asim Saleem Bajwa has said that the formation of military courts is a step towards greater democracy, ARY News reports.

DG ISPR in his interview to a foreign news agency said that the decision of forming military courts was taken by the political parties in the interest of the country.

Bajwa further said that Zarb-e-Azb military offensive against militants in North Waziristan has transformed into a national operation against terrorism.

He also said that more than 4000 terrorists were arrested in operations outside the tribal areas. He added that the scope of anti-terrorism operation has been widened after the attack on Army Public School in Peshawar.

“It is the effectiveness of the operation that the leaders of terrorist organization have fled to Afghanistan”, he added.

“The Peshawar attack was a reaction by the terrorists”, Bajwa said.

DG ISPR added that Zarb-e-Azb will complete with the end of terrorism in the country.
