Qandeel Baloch laid to rest in DG Khan village

Her family members were present at the time of burial in village Shah Sadruddin. A large number of people attended the funeral.

Qandeel’s father Muhammad Azeem told ARY News that his daughter had planned to enter politics in a few days. “She had asked me for permission about it and I’d given her a go-ahead,” he said.

Heart-broken father said his sons were ‘provoked’ to murder Qandeel. He said it seemed it was his destiny to suffer pain at this stage of life.”

Police had registered a murder case against her brother based on her father’s written complaint, in which he accused his son of killing his daughter for honour because “his son wanted her to quit showbiz”.

Baloch, believed to be in her twenties and whose real name was Fauzia Azeem, had travelled with her family to Muzzafarabad village in central Punjab province for the recent Eid holiday.

Brother confesses to killing Qandeel

Meanwhile, slain Qandeel’s brother has confessed to killing her and expressed no remorse for the crime. “I have no regret on what I did,” he bluntly told journalists when police produced him during the press briefing on Saturday.

CPO Multan Azhar Akram had presented the alleged culprit before media who confessed that he had killed her sister, Qandeel.

The suspect had strangled her sister on Friday night and then fled to Dera Ghazi Khan.

“We are respected people of Baloch cast. Qandeel’s videos making rounds on social media could not be tolerated, hence I myself decided to kill her. I am not ashamed of my act,” he said.

Meanwhile, the remains of Qandeel Baloch was in Edhi mortuary and has now been handed over to her family.

Her funeral prayers will be offered today in her ancestral village.
