Police foil 'potential attack' on 23rd March parade

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Police on Sunday arrested two ‘terrorists’ who were planning to attack the 23rd March parade in the federal capital, ARY News reported.

According to details, police raided a house located in Ghouri Town and apprehended two suspected terrorists Sagheer and Raja Safeer from there. Police also recovered six Kalashnikovs, one 7mm rifle, one pistol and nearly 3000 live rounds from their possession.

However, another accomplice of the arrested terrorists managed to escape arrest, who was identified as Akber.

A case was registered against the accused at Koral police station.

Officials told that the arrested accused have confessed to have planned a terror attack on Pakistan Day parade in Islamabad.

It should also be noted here that the government has lately announced to recommence the Pakistan Day parade, which was suspended due to worsened law and order situation of the country after 2007.
