PPP meeting in Dubai decides major reshuffle in Sindh cabinet

KARACHI: A meeting of People’s Party leaders in Dubai, chaired by Asif Ali Zardari, has decided about major reshuffle in Sindh cabinet, ARY News reported on Thursday.

According to sources, former provincial minister for local government Nasir Shah will be awarded the food ministry in the new Sindh setup. Manzoor Wassan will be relieved from the additional charge of the food department and he will remain the minister for mineral development.

The meeting also decided to give the local government portfolio to Jam Khan Shoro and rural development and public health engineering department to Ayaz Butt.

The PPP meeting also decided to add an advisor in the provincial cabinet. Senator Maula Bux Chandio will be made provincial advisor for information and senior minister Nisar Khuhro will be relieved from the department. Khuhro will remain the education minister.

Mukesh Kumar Chawla will be given additional charge of the minorities affairs.

Syed Qaim Ali Shah-led PPP government in Sindh blamed for incompetence and bad governance in the province. The provincial ruling party after recent debacle in local government elections in Badin district also facing criticism from the party’s rank and file.
