Valentine’s Day celebrations banned in Kohat

KOHAT: Forget about the Valentine’s Day if you’re living in Kohat. Yes. The district administration in the city had banned celebrating the day.

The Khyber Pakhtonkhwa has also issued a notification approved by nazim of Kohat.

The notification says that sale of Valentine’s Day cards, flowers and paraphernalia. “Action will be taken against violators,” reads the notification. It directed police officials to ensure that the orders are enforced.

Reports quoted district Nazim as saying that Valentine’s Day celebrations have been banned as it is against Shariah.

The notification was issued to District Police Officer (DPO) Kohat from the office of the nazim, Kohat.
