According to details, PMLN workers thrashed the reporter, Babar Malik and threatened him of serious consequences. PMLN workers ill-treated the ARY News reporter in Faizabad area of Rawalpindi.
The management of ARY News denounced the episode and termed it an attack on freedom of speech.
Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) and Rawalpindi Union of Journalists (RUJ) have strongly condemned the incident. President PFUJ, Rana Azeem said that the entire journalist fraternity is standing with ARY news, adding that, “I am ready to become the claimant of the case against bullying PMLN workers”.
On the other hand, president RUJ also vowed to register a case against the PMLN workers himself, he added that such incidents cannot be tolerated at all.
